Gordon N, Christchurch NZ The South Face chutes at Mt Hutt are home to the best freeriding in NZ. It also has long carvers, and decent heli boarding. Yes sometimes the mountain is closed due to high winds but not often, on a windy day stay below the base car-park for shelter. When it snows in NZ Mt Hutt always gets the big dumps of powder.
