Getting to Zermatt

Zermatt is 250 kilometres from Zurich International Airport, a 4 hour drive and 217 kilometres from Geneva International Airport, a 3 hour drive. Direct buses and hire cars are available from both airports.

Trains can be caught to Zermatt Station from across Europe. One memorable and scenic train trip to Zermatt is on the Glacier Express train that leaves from St Moritz taking around 7 ½ hours to wind through the Swiss Alps with just one train change. The train is specially designed with extra large windows, commentary and a dining car.

Being a car free resort, cars are only allowed as far as Tasch, which is 5km from Zermatt, where taxis and shuttle trains operate into Zermatt.
