Zurich to Zermatt Tunnel

The train trip from Zurich to Zermatt in Switzerland will be able to be done in less than 200 minutes when the new Lötschberg base tunnel is completed in December 2007. The tunnel through the mountains is 34.6 km long and will cut the overall travelling time from Zurich to Zermatt from 4 hours and 25 minutes to 3 hours and 16 minutes.

Currently all ski and snowboard trails are open at Zermatt with good snow conditions and sunshine reported for the next few days.
