Steamboat doubles lifts and terrain this weekend

Steamboat, Colorado will double the number of lifts open this weekend and the available terrain including the family friendly sunshine Bowl area, Sundown trails as well as several trails off Thunderhead.

In total there will be 106 Trails open, 11 Lifts operating and 1,957 Acres Or Nearly 70% of the mountain operating. There has been more than 7 feet of Champagne Powder® Snow since 10th October this year!

"Steamboat has enjoyed its traditional early season snow and cold weather this year. As a result, the mountain is in incredible shape as we move into the holiday period," said Doug Allen, vice president-operations of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. "As conditions allow and with the hard work of mountain crews, we'll open additional terrain and lift with the goal of being 100% open for the holidays."

The new terrain includes the Sunshine Bowl area with the new Sundial and Rendezvous Way trails as well as the redesigned Broadway trail, Rolex, Westside, Lower High Noon and the popular O'Clock trails. On the lower mountain, traditional favorites such as Heavenly Daze, Ted's Ridge, Vertigo and Vogue will be available.
