This free event is open for all ages and includes, men’s and women’s ski and snowboard classes. The first competitor to make it to the top of the course and back wins bragging rights and awesome prizes.

Then from 4-8 pm, look for Santa spreading holiday cheer throughout the Village. Don’t miss the Holiday Sip, Shop & Hop in the Village shops also from 4-8 pm; enjoy complimentary wine and a relaxing holiday shopping experience.

On Saturday, Squaw Valley USA hosts the Solstice Slalom. In this free open-class race, competitors vie for the grand prize, a Squaw Valley “Stay and Ski” package. The race begins at noon on the Exhibition race course and is followed by an award ceremony at 2 pm.

The Village Event Plaza will come come alive with après music from local bluegrass favorite, the Rusty Strings at 2 pm. Then, guests can dance well into the evening at the 15th Annual Snow God’s Ball, featuring live music by Delta Nove and Albino. The doors will open at 8 pm and tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased at all Dave’s Ski & Board Shop locations. All proceeds benefit the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol Avalanche Education Fund.

Look for the hidden magnetic Solstice snowflakes on lift towers around the mountain and base village. Snowflakes can be redeemed for great prizes such as, lift tickets and gift certificates to local restaurants and shops. The lucky grand prize winner scores a weekend getaway at Squaw Valley with lodging and lift tickets for two. At 4 pm, the Resort at Squaw Creek hosts a fabulous Holiday Program featuring Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. Admission is $5 for adults and free for kids 12 and under.
