Described as 'the ultimate guided skiing tour' Falls Creek has teamed up with local ski legend Steve Lee to introduce snowriders to hidden parts of Falls Creek. Skiers and snowboarders are transported by snowmobile to Mt McKay and the Dam Site and Rocky Knolls area to experience untouched powder runs and virgin cruising terrain. The half day tours are for strong intermediate level and above skiers and snowboarders. The cost is $149 per person.
Choose to drive yourself or be a passenger on an exhilarating guided snowmobile tour of Mt McKay. Once at the top of Mt McKay riders can choose the easy road back down or try the open slopes! All snowmobiles have built in hand warmers and helmets are provided. The day tours run for 1 hour with twilight tours running up to 1½ hours. The tours are weather dependent. The price of a single adult driver is $125, two adult drivers $165 and an adult passenger with a guide $75. Twilight tours cost $165 for a single driver, $220 for two adult drivers and $120 for an adult passenger with a guide.
The Falls Creek lift pass is valid for use at the neighbouring resort of Mt Hotham. A daily heli-link service is offered to skiers and snowboarders who want to take advantage of the dual lift pass. The flight takes six minutes crossing high over Mt McKay, Mt Feathertop and the beautiful Victorian high country. The heli-link service is weather dependent so book a few days in advance. The return flight cost is $130 per adult – this does not include the cost of a lift pass. Scenic flights are also available with 'fast laps' around Falls Creek and Mt McKay starting at $99 per adult.
Get some speed and air in the Falls Creek Tube Park in the Village Bowl. A convenient drag lift takes tubers back to the top after each hair raising ride. The park is open from 11am to 8pm everyday and costs $20 per half hour.
Every Thursday evening Falls Creek has summit sunset tours where guests catch the summit chairlift to the top where they can enjoy a gourmet picnic hamper and a glass of champagne and watch the sun slowly set over the mountains. The sunset tour goes for 1 hour and costs $45 per adult and $35 per child.
