Zermatt Accommodation
The picturesque and cosmopolitan Zermatt Village is dominated not only by the Matterhorn but surrounded by 38 peaks all over 13,000 feet high.
The Village is a pedestrian Village with the only means of transport being small electric taxis that buzz through the streets and horse drawn carriages. Give yourself time to explore the narrow streets and alleys leading off the main street; you will discover some historic buildings and quaint hotels and bars.
Zermatt has over 110 hotels and 1,800 apartments and chalets catering to all budgets.
The luxury 5 star Grand Hotel Zermatterhof has exceptional service, 84 guest rooms all with balconies, 2 in-house restaurants and bars an indoor swimming pool and day spa offering massage and beauty treatments.
The 4 star Hotel Antares is a halfboard hotel meaning buffet breakfasts and gourmet dinners are included in the price of your stay. The hotel has deluxe rooms, a bar and a health spa.
The 3 star family run Hotel Perren has comfortable double and single rooms, a communal lounge room, a bar and a full buffet breakfast is provided daily.
The 2 star Hotel Alphubel located just off the main street has small and cosy rooms all with ensuites, a communal lounge and dining room. The hotel has rates for just bed and breakfast stays and halfboard rates.
The Matterhorn Hostel is located centrally within the Village. It has cheap and clean rooms sleeping from 2 to 8 guests with shared bathroom facilities. The hostel has a communal lounge, games room, lockers, internet access and a bar and restaurant.
Apartments and chalets are available to rent at Zermatt through rental companies and private owners. They can sleep from 2 to 15 guests with some serviced daily. Most of the apartments are centrally located with full kitchens, balconies and ski rooms. Apartments are often a cheaper option to stay in as guests have their own cooking facilities eliminating the expenses of dining out each night.
