St Moritz Accommodation

St Moritz is one of the Worlds most popular ski villages, with roughly 70% of visitors travelling from outside of Switzerland and Europe.

St Moritz is split into 2 main sections, St Moritz Dorf and St Moritz Bad.

St Moritz Dorf is the main central town with direct access to the slopes and where the main bulk of accommodation, restaurants and activity are found.

St Moritz Dorf looks across the Engadine Valley and the lake to St Moritz Bad. St Moritz Bad was built in the 1970’s mainly for extra accommodation and has direct cable car access to the Corviglia and Piz Nair skiing and snowboarding areas. A free bus, with the purchase of a ski pass, connects Dorf with Bad and only takes a few minutes.

Accommodation is generally cheaper in Bad than in Dorf, however good deals can always be found throughout the season in Dorf.

More than half of the hotel beds in St Moritz are in either 5 or 4 star hotels! There are six 5 star hotels as well as many 4, 3 and 2 star hotels, rental apartments, B & Bs and even a Club Med!

The 5 star Badrutt's Palace Hotel is the most famous hotel in St Moritz, it has 165 luxurious rooms covering 23,000 square meters and has 7 restaurants, 4 bars and 32 fashion boutiques.  An entire new luxurious east wing has recently been added to the hotel opening in December 2007.  It is certainly the place to be seen, if you can afford to walk through the door!

The slightly cheaper 4 star Hotel Monopol has large rooms with soft beds, breakfasts fit for a king as well as it's own bar and restaurant serving sensational Italian cuisine.

The more affordable Hotel Corvatsch, at Bad, is a 3 star friendly family run hotel with very comfortable rooms and an Italian/Swiss restaurant that is renowned for its excellent cuisine. The hotel offers last minute good deals throughout the winter season.

In Dorf the 2 star Hotel Languard is very small but located centrally and offers breakfast daily also in Dorf, Hotel Bellaval, next to the train station and bus stops, has rooms from as low as CHF 55.00 per person per night.

St. Moritz has over 3,500 rental apartments available in both Dorf and Bad, they range from 1 bed basic studios to luxury 4 and 5 bedrooms.

The cheapest accomodation in St Moritz, the Youth Hostel in Bad, is clean, comfortable, has a large common lounge and game room. A four bed share room can be as little as CHF 45 per night including breakfast and dinner.
