Happo One has accommodation in hotels, family run pensions, apartments and hostels. Many of the hotels were built for the 1998 Winter Olympics.
The Hakuba Luna Hotel is 1 minutes walk to the base area at Happo One. The 16 room hotel is Japanese styled with western bedding, ensuites and televisions. The hotel has a recreation room, in-house restaurant and bar, internet facilities, a laundry and ski storage and drying room. Full cooked breakfasts are included in the price of an overnight stay.
Seventh Heaven Hakuba accommodates twenty guests and is a great option for group snow bookings in Hakuba. The spacious rental house has 10 western style ensuite bedrooms, a generous lounge with an open fireplace, a guest bar, fully equipped kitchen, a drying room and an onsite laundry. The Gakuto Villas are a 5 minute walk to the Hakuba base area. Each stylish villa has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with flat screen TV and ipod docking station, heated flooring and a fireplace.
The Western style 3 star HighMount Hotel is centrally located in the village with comfortable clean rooms with ensuites, an indoor natural hot spring, in-house restaurant and bar and English speaking staff.
The self catering Aurinko Chalet located a couple of minutes walk to the base lifts has three double bedrooms a full kitchen, large lounge room and drying room.
The town of Hakuba is five minutes drive from both resorts; it offers accommodation in hotels, pensions and hostels.
The four star Hakuba Mominoki Hotel is a 5 minute drive from Hakuba Station. The hotel has both western style and Japanese rooms all with ensuites. The hotel has English television, internet access, three in-house restaurants, a concierge service, free shuttle bus, ski storage and an outdoor hot spring spa and sauna facilities.
The Western style Snowbeds Backpackers Chalet has both private and shared rooms available at reasonable rates.
The centrally located Chalet has a large communal lounge room and a fully equipped kitchen.
The Grove Inn Skala is centrally located in Hakuba, it has both Western and Japanese style rooms, all with ensuites and a bar and in house restaurant. All the staff speak English.
Make sure you realise when you book your accommodation that a basic room in Japan is very different to a basic room you would expect to get in western resorts; a traditional Japanese room is usually very small and often has no ensuite.
